The Nutcracker at the Berglund Center – The Home of Southwest Virginia Ballet
2023 will mark the 32nd annual performance of SVB’s The Nutcracker at the Berglund Performing Arts Theatre, the Home of Southwest Virginia Ballet. This is the area’s largest Nutcracker performance and has been awarded Roanoke’s Best Annual Holiday Event in 2021, as well as Roanoke’s Best Art Performance in 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
The Nutcracker is a timeless holiday tradition, the best-known of all ballets. Each year SVB’s performance hosts a cast of more than 100 dancers, 200 costumes and 400 accessories! To take part in this production is to share the stage in one of Roanoke’s most cherished artistic events and honored holiday tradition of Virginia’s Blue Ridge.
NEW this year! Southwest Virginia Ballet is proud to announce that this year’s performances will be accompanied by a LIVE ORCHESTRA! Hear the majesty of this beautiful score the way it was intended with the addition of the Orchestra of Virginia’s Blue Ridge conducted by Dr. Wayne Gallops.
Community members can perform as reindeers, mice, soldiers, party guests and more.
The Nutcracker performance dates are Saturday, December 9 at 2pm and 7pm and Sunday, December 10 at 3pm at the Berglund Performing Arts Theatre.
Tickets, VIP Tickets, and Season Ticket Packages (including tickets to Romeo & Juliet in April 2024) are available here.
